Josh Kauten (Pitching Instructor) resides in Bloomington, IL where he is currently the pitching coach for Heartland Community College.  In 2007, which was Heartland's inaugural year, the Hawks went 35-17 and were ranked as high as 17th in the nation followed by a 42-9 record with a national ranking of #4 in 2009. Also, during the 2009 season his pitching staff amassed a league leading 2.72 ERA.   In addition, he is a personal trainer where he quickly became a top grossing trainer.

He attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA, where he earned Academic All-American Honors.  He then transferred to Illinois State University where he earned his degree in Exercise Science and Fitness.  After being named the Male Scholar-Athlete of the year, he was drafted in 2004 by the Detroit Tigers in the 11th round.

He spent 3 years with Detroit and was part of the 2006 championship team the West Michigan Whitecaps, before moving on to the independent ranks.  Over the last 5 years, he's compiled a career ERA of 3.73 in 437.1 innings while striking out 293 compared to walking only 121.  He was also named to the American Association All-Star Team in 2007.
