Hitter's Counts

When we look at the hitter's counts (0/0, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, 3/2), we notice that there are 8 out of 12 count scenarios that can be considered aggressive counts. The ones missing are 0/1, 0/2, 1/2, and 2/2. Just recently, I was working with some young players, and I discussed what it means to be aggressive at the plate. To keep it simple, approach hitting from a mental aspect, i.e. "hit strikes." Usually the pitcher will try to get ahead with strikes, and stay ahead of hitters with strikes. This means, that as a hitter, it is crucial to have a hitter's mindset once you step into the box. Let's start a discussion on different mental approaches and see the pros and cons of each post.
