Paul Winterling (Hitting and Outfield Instructor and Analysis Team Member) played 4 years of Minor League Baseball in the Baltimore Orioles Organization. He spent most of 2008 with the Frederick Keys(A+) before being promoted to the Bowie Baysox (AA) as a reserve for the playoff roster. In 2007, Paul hit .320 for the Delmarva Shorebirds(A-). Later that year, he won the Carolina League Championship with the Keys(A+). For the last four years, Paul has also been an assistant coach at JHU during its fall season. He has seen two of his players go on to play professionally as well as Hopkins become National Runners-Up at the 2008 Div III College World Series.
In addition to coaching collegiately, Paul has worked with thousands of area youth through camps, clinics, and private lessons. Prior to forming Professional Baseball Training, Winterling worked alongside Phil Newman at the Baseball Factory, Inc. As an amateur player, Paul was a two-time pre-season All American at Johns Hopkins University and led Hopkins to its first #1 national ranking in 2004. He holds an NCAA record with grand slams in a game (2) and is 2nd in RBIs in a game (11). Professionally, Winterling played for the Bluefield Orioles, Aberdeen Ironbirds, Delmarva Shorebirds, and Frederick Keys.
